Dr. Chuck Bamford is a Professor and the Dennis Thompson Chair of
Entrepreneurial Leadership at Queens University of Charlotte. He
earned his A.S. degree at
Northern
Virginia Community College, a B.S. degree at the
University of Virginia (McIntire School of Commerce), an MBA at
Virginia
Tech and a Ph.D. in Strategy & Entrepreneurship
at the
University
of Tennessee. During a twelve-year span prior to
pursuing his Ph.D. he held positions managing Business Analysis
for Dominion Bankshares Corporation (now Wells Fargo
Corporation). Other positions during his business career
included Director of Corporate Training, Systems Analyst, COBOL
programmer, and full time instructor in the early 1980s at
Virginia
Western Community College.
His research has been
published in the Strategic
Management Journal, Journal of Business Venturing,
Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Business
Research, Journal of Business Strategies, Journal of Technology
Transfer, and
Journal of Small Business Management. Chuck is the
co-author of three textbooks: “Small
Business Management: A Framework for Success”
(South-Western); Strategic Management: Value Creation,
Sustainability, and Performance (South-Western); and a text that is
scheduled for release in January 2010 entitled:
Entrepreneurship: A Small Business Approach
(McGraw-Hill).
Chuck has taught courses in
Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at the undergraduate,
graduate and executive levels. His teaching experience includes
courses taught at Universities in Scotland, Hungary, and the
Czech Republic. Prior to joining Queens University of
Charlotte he was an Associate Professor at
Texas
Christian University and at the
University
of Richmond. He has taught Executive MBA courses at
Texas
Christian University,
Tulane
University, The University of Notre Dame and at
Queens
University
of Charlotte.
Chuck is the Founder of
Bamford Associates, LLC. He has worked with thousands of
managers over the past 17 years to improve their ability to
generate significant new income for their companies via the
development of implementable strategic plans and an
entrepreneurial orientation to growth. His clients include:
