Michele C. Henderson, PhD, CPA, earned her
doctorate in accounting from The University of Georgia. She also has a
Masters of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee and a BA in Business
Administration with a major in accounting from Michigan State University.
Dr. Henderson has taught various accounting courses at Winthrop University,
East Carolina University, and Lincoln Memorial University. As a doctoral
student, she also taught at The University of Georgia and was an on-site
instructor for Conviser Duffy CPA
Review (now BeckerConviser CPA Review) in the Atlanta area. She has designed
and presented programs for the Executive Leadership Institute and the
Charlotte Chapters of the Institute of Management Accountants and North
Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Her research interests
include audit judgement, assessment measures, and ethics. Before pursuing an
academic career, Dr. Henderson worked for nine years as an auditor with
public accounting firms and as a corporate controller. She has been licensed
as a North Carolina CPA since 1985.
