Les Hudson
is the Wayland H. Cato, Jr. Chair of Leadership at the
McColl Graduate School of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial
Management from Clemson University
(1997). Dr. Hudson also has a B.A. in Economics from Furman University (1961), and earned his MBA from the University of South
Carolina in 1965.
Dr. Hudson
teaches Business Strategy and Business Policy. His research interests
include corporate strategy, corporate governance, and strategic decisions
concerning capacity expansion.
He is
involved with Clemson's Arthur M. Spiro Center for Entrepreneurial
Leadership in the areas of program development, teaching, and
entrepreneurial mentoring.
Dr. Hudson
is currently a Director of American Electric Power Company, Inc. in
Columbus, Ohio, American National Bankshares and American National Bank in
Virginia, the Greenville Hospital System Foundation in South Carolina; and
The Sirrine Foundation in South Carolina.
Prior to
his entering Clemson's Graduate School in 1993, Dr. Hudson worked in
industrial operations and corporate management for more than twenty-five
years.
He was
the President, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of two textile
companies, one listed on the New York Stock Exchange and one privately
owned.
