As CFO, Alvaro G. de Molina
was responsible for Finance, Corporate
Treasury, Corporate Investments and Investor Relations. De Molina previously
was chief executive officer of Banc of America Securities, leading the
markets and products aspects of Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB),
with responsibility for investor client coverage; equity and debt
capital-raising, sales, and trading; credit services; and risk management
products and services.
In a former role, de Molina was corporate treasurer, where he chaired the
asset/liability committee and had management responsibility for all Treasury
functions for the company, including all investment and funding activities,
as well as pensions, insurance and economics. He joined Bank of America in
1989.
Prior to joining Bank of America, de Molina served in the lead financial
role for Emerging Markets at J.P. Morgan. He began his career in 1979 with
Price Waterhouse.
De Molina is presently on the Board of Visitors of Duke University Fuqua
School of Business, the Dean’s Council at Florida International University
College of Business Administration, and the Board of Directors of the
Financial Services Volunteer Corps. He chaired the bank’s internal Diversity
Advisory Council, served on the board of the Bank of America Charitable
Foundation and was the 2006 Bank of America United Way campaign chair.
A
native of Havana, Cuba, de Molina immigrated to the United States in 1960.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson
University and an MBA from Rutgers University. He is also a graduate of the
Duke University Advanced Management Program.
Alvaro G. de Molina was scheduled to speak at the McColl School
of Business on February 1, 2007 as part of the Leaders In Action Lecture Series. The
lecture was cancelled due to inclement weather.
