CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 25, 2007)
—Elizabeth Baxter has joined Queens University of Charlotte as an assistant director for McColl School alumni and development. In her new role, Baxter will be responsible for implementing strategies to increase engagement and annual giving for the McColl School of Business among alumni, friends and corporate/foundation sources.

“We are most excited that Elizabeth has joined our team. Her background coupled with her energy and enthusiasm will result in wonderful things for Queens and specifically the McColl School,” said Todd Hartung, associate vice president for alumni programs and annual giving.

Prior to joining Queens, Baxter served as a ministry associate for the University of Mississippi, assisting the campus minister with all trip coordination, general fundraising needs and administrative tasks. She successfully raised more than $60,000 through personal fundraising and donor events to fund her role on the University’s campus. Prior to this position, she was a communications intern for Senator Elizabeth Dole’s office and an operations intern for the Bush/Cheney 2004 Presidential Campaign.

Baxter obtained a bachelor’s degree in English from Davidson College in Davidson, N.C., where she was a John M. Belk Scholarship recipient. She is a past mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters and has extensive experience in local theatre, serving as a program intern for the Royal Shakespeare Company Residency and a stage manager for the Davidson College Theater Department.

Queens University of Charlotte is a private, co-ed, Presbyterian-affiliated comprehensive university, with a commitment to both liberal arts and professional studies. Located in the heart of historic Charlotte, Queens serves approximately 2,200 undergraduate and graduate students through its College of Arts and Sciences, the McColl School of Business, The Pauline Lewis Hayworth College and the Presbyterian School of Nursing.
