The McColl School of Business Executive MBA was founded in 1990 as the first Executive MBA program in the Charlotte region. From the start, the program has operated on the premise that an Executive MBA should be more than the list of traditional MBA courses squeezed into a weekend format.

The curriculum of the McColl School is unique and effective. In 2007, the McColl Executive MBA was called "innovative and dynamic" by the AACSB accreditation visiting team in their review of the McColl School of Business. Our curriculum is designed around issues rather than academic courses. Each course is a different length. The length is appropriate to the subject matter. Similar topics are addressed by different faculty across course boundaries in a way as to emphasize the cross-functional linkages. The curriculum is dedicated to providing an experience tightly linked to the needs of practicing managers and professionals.
The McColl
Executive MBA differs from most others in its emphasis on the growth and
development of participants rather than simply in their evaluation.
Instead of the simply evaluative feedback you probably experienced in your previous
academic endeavors, each faculty will write comments for you at
the end of each term. These comments will specify how the faculty
perceived your performance during the term and suggest developmental
opportunities you might pursue. Further, participant study teams provide performance
feedback to each other periodically during the program.

The McColl Executive MBA is a leadership development as well as an academic experience. Participants receive formal leadership training as well as accurate insights to their own leadership styles. This, plus the personal attention of a professional leadership coach, equips them to develop the leadership skills they will need in their careers.
The McColl Executive MBA faculty is a team of highly qualified academics with exemplary teaching skills. The skills and perspective of each faculty member has been refined by relevant experience in business and consulting.
We invite you to learn more about the exciting and rewarding experience the McColl Executive MBA has to offer.
